Thales Model A Calculator 1920 Vintage Art Deco Home Decoration Office

A not often offered Thales model A calculator, probably more than 100 years old. The Thales calculator was manufactured by the Thaleswerk company, Rechenmaschinen-Spezialwerk GmbH from Rastatt Germany. This company was founded in 1911 by Emil Schubert, known for his later 50's / 60's versions under his own name: the Schubert. Thaleswerk produced several models until 1936, of which model A was the first. Due to the rise of Nazi fascination, Emil Schubert left the company. After the war he founded his own company, Schubert. The serial number is A 23.238

I cleaned it, but there are some small parts missing inside. The pins at the top are therefore not adjustable. You can turn the handle smoothly and it counts the number. You can also move the decimal register at the bottom with the button. The price has therefore been adjusted slightly. A fun play item and great as home decoration. These machines will only become more valuable in the future. It's a smart investment.
